The site lies in a difficult landscape
Flooding, sediment and a high water table buried or disturbed remains. Excavation reveals foundations and fragments more readily than intact elevations.

The single column is a teaching device
The standing column is reconstructed from pieces and helps visitors imagine height. It should not be mistaken for an untouched survivor exactly as antiquity left it.
